Steinway & Sons is proud to support Lighthouse International's Filomen M. D'Agostino Greenberg Music School, founded in 1913, in its mission to bring the finest musical experiences to music students who are visually impaired. As part of a unique partnership with the School, Steinway has designed a special new music desk that, when fitted to a Steinway piano, brings sheet music higher and closer to students with vision loss, thus preventing strain and allowing for proper posture and technique.

Many of the pianos currently used in the School are Steinways; however, the average age of the instruments is 84 years, and many are in need of replacement. As part of the school's Piano Replacement Program, Lighthouse launched the "88 Keys Campaign," in which supporters can purchase a single piano key in their name or to honor a loved one for around $500. Funds raised in the campaign will go directly toward the purchase of new Steinway pianos for the School, and for every new piano, Steinway will donate the design and installation of the special music desk.

"The dedication of the School to Steinway pianos is consistent with its mission to help students with vision loss," said Todd Sanders, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Steinway & Sons. "People with impaired vision often have a very keen, heightened sense of hearing, and not just any piano will do. It's important to offer these students the best-sounding pianos in the world. That experience comes only with a Steinway."

"As a teacher and performer myself, I can speak to the fact that the quality of the instrument upon which you work greatly impacts the progress you make," said Dr. Leslie Jones, Executive Director of the Music School. "Since the inception of the School, we have been fortunate to have an inventory of Steinway pianos. We feel that it is very important to continue this valuable legacy."

NYN to Connect The Wiltern with nine other U.S. Cities for "Simultaneous Celebration" including live performance by Travis Barker and DJ AM (TRVSDJAM)

New Year's Nation (NYN), a high-end events and promotions company that leverages technology to create simultaneous social experiences for young professionals in major markets around the country, today announced that Los Angeles has been selected as one of 10 host cities for NYN's simultaneous New Year's Eve celebration. The national New Year's Eve celebration, hosted locally at The Wiltern, will feature an onsite performance by Travis Barker and DJ AM (TRVSDJAM). The night will be started off with entertainment by DJ Girl 6.

The concept of the nationwide, simultaneous party was born in 2006, when NYN CEO Jann Yogman hosted the first NYN New Year's Eve party in five U.S. cities. This year, Los Angeles will join NYN's New Year's Eve celebrations in Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, New York City, Philadelphia, Portland and Seattle for a simultaneous nationwide party across four time zones.

"I'm glad our first show back is here in LA on New Year's Eve. I've never been 10 places at once before," said DJ AM.

"I'm ready to get back on stage with AM and continue to rock the house. I'm very excited to bring in the New Year in my hometown of LA," said Travis Barker.

The TRVSDJAM set will be streamed live in HD quality on the Internet at www.newyearsnation.com, and broadcast live to NYN parties across the U.S. through NYN-TV, a live, high-definition (HD) quality broadcast powered by BitGravity, a Content Delivery Network (CDN) for interactive broadcast. Through NYN-TV, guests at the NYN parties in Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Minneapolis, New York City, Portland and Seattle will be able to see TRVSDJAM's performance live on giant projection screens and dance to their music.

Live footage from NYN celebrations around the nation will be featured on ESPN during the "Red Bull: New Year, No Limits." New Year's Eve event in Las Vegas beginning at 8:00 p.m. PT / 11:00 p.m. ET on December 31.

For partygoers attending the Los Angeles event at The Wiltern, NYN's attention to detail and commitment to creating an unforgettable, entertaining and hassle-free evening sets it apart from all other New Year's parties. The Wiltern is a world-renowned venue, owned and operated by Live Nation, one of the largest live event and concert companies in the nation. The party will feature:

Pre-sold, all-inclusive tickets sold to a number of guests that can fit comfortably in the venue - no packed spaces, velvet ropes or lines that wrap around the block.

An on-site performance by TRVSDJAM with opening entertainment by DJ Girl 6.

A guest-to-bartender ratio that ensures all attendees will have easy access to drinks.

Gourmet passed hors d'oeuvres & food stations, champagne upon arrival and at Midnight.

About New Year's Nation

New Year's Nation (NYN) is a high-end events and promotions company that leverages technology to create simultaneous social experiences for young professionals in major markets around the country.

NYN was formed in 2006 when entrepreneur and events promoter Jann Yogman conceived the idea of creating the first nationwide New Year's party that would use technology to connect young professionals and enable them to interact and share in the same social experience.

Based on the success of this first event, NYN has expanded the party every year. New Year's Eve 2009 will include more than 15,000 guests in 10 cities and four time zones across the country, with thousands more participating online.

NYN currently focuses on creating a national New Year's Eve Party, but in the future will expand to other events and online tools for people who value these experiences, allowing them to interact in a variety of ways. While the possibilities for these experiences are endless, everything that New Year's Nation is involved with will reflect the "NYN Experience" in quality and customer experience.
