'Viva ELVIS' is a harmonious fusion of dance, acrobatics and live music, and a tribute to the life and music of Elvis Presley. Nostalgia, modernity and raw emotion provide the backdrop for his immortal voice and the exhilaration and beauty of his music. Created in the image of The King of Rock 'n' Roll - powerful, sexy, whimsical, truly unique and larger than life - the show highlights an American icon who transformed popular music and whose image embodies the freedom, excitement and turbulence of his era. Significant moments in the artist's life - intimate, playful and grandiose - blend with the timeless songs that remain as relevant today as when they first hit the top of the charts. 'Viva ELVIS' focuses on the essential humanity of the one superstar whose name will forever be linked with the history of Las Vegas and the entire world of entertainment: Elvis Presley. From the moment in early 1956 when Elvis' first string of hits on RCA Victor proclaimed his arrival on the old 'Top 100' - "Heartbreak Hotel," "Blue Suede Shoes," "Hound Dog," "Don't Be Cruel," "Love Me Tender" - there were 17 chart titles in 1956 alone - his hammerlock on rock and roll was unquestioned, his influence on the destiny of all popular music about to be engraved in stone. Even after the Beatles' conquest started in 1964, and the revolution of Bob Dylan in 1965, Elvis continued his reign on the charts, slotting nearly four dozen songs on the Hot 100 from 1964 to 1969.

As compiled by Joel Whitburn, Elvis is the top-ranked Hot 100 male artist (by far!) of the 1950s and '60s - and the only act (male, female, or group) ever to be top-ranked #1 for two separate decades. Elvis holds unassailable records for the Most Chart Hits (151), Most Top 40 Hits (104), Most RIAA Platinum Hits (28), Most RIAA Gold Hits (24), and Most Weeks Charted (1,598).

Daughtry's second album, LEAVE THIS TOWN (19 Recordings/RCA), debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 269,299 copies sold in its first week of release. The record is also No. 1 on the Digital Albums Chart and the Rock Chart. Daughtry moves Michael Jackson from the top of the sales charts, where the late singer has dominated for the previous three weeks.

Daughtry_albumcov.jpg

LEAVE THIS TOWN is Daughtry's first album to debut at the top of the Billboard 200 and its second consecutive No. 1 album. The band's self-titled debut entered the charts at #3, sold more than 4.5 million copies, spent two weeks at No. 1 and is still on the charts more than two years after its release. The first single from LEAVE THIS TOWN "No Surprise" is quickly ascending the pop charts and currently with the no. 1 video at Vh1.

Singer Chris Daughtry, bassist Josh Paul, drummer Joey Barnes, and guitarists Brian Craddock and Josh Steely recorded LEAVE THIS TOWN with producer Howard Benson.

"This album is special because it's our first together as a band," Chris Daughtry said. "We poured our hearts into these songs to make the record we've always dreamed about. To have people respond the way they have is extremely gratifying, but even more humbling."

Simon Fuller, CEO of 19 Entertainment, comments: "Daughtry have become a legitimate rock band - passionate, united and dedicated. For their sophomore album to debut at number one is a spectacular achievement. I'm proud to be associated with Chris, Josh, JP, Joey and Brian. Long may their successful journey together continue."

"Daughtry possesses a rare common touch that allows his band's music to hit a nerve with the public unlike most artists today. This great result on top of the group's last album which was the fastest-selling rock debut in history is proof of that. The RCA/Jive Label Group is thrilled to be a part of Daughtry's continued success," says Barry Weiss Chairman and CEO, RCA/Jive Label Group.

LEAVE THIS TOWN has received outstanding reviews, earning raves for singer Chris Daughtry's powerful voice. "... an instrument cleaner and stronger than anybody else singing mainstream rock right now," said the Los Angeles Times while People gave the album three out of four stars, noting: "His voice has never sounded better." The Seattle Times called the album "more confident and eclectic" a point confirmed by other publications, including The Detroit News and Free Press, which said: "a powerhouse voice that's nicely matched with some well-written, diverse material." In a cover story, Billboard observed, "... it's another record full of songs that make you want to roll down the car windows and bust a vocal cord or two while trying to match Daughtry's gravelly wail."

With LEAVE THIS TOWN, the band is poised to continue the global success it achieved with the group's debut. The album earned the band Grammy nominations, American Music Award wins and charted three No. 1 hits; a rare feat for any artist.

Daughtry will embark upon a short club tour this August, starting just weeks after the release of LEAVE THIS TOWN (19 Recordings/RCA Music Group), the follow-up to the band's Grammy-nominated and quintuple-platinum debut.

Daughtry_albumcov.jpg

Singer Chris Daughtry, bassist Josh Paul, drummer Joey Barnes, and guitarists Brian Craddock and Josh Steely will use the intimate shows to perform many of the songs from the new album on stage for the first time. The 13-date tour will kick off August 2 in Orlando, FL and end August 22 in Las Vegas, NV. Tickets go on sale July 11. Daughtry will offer limited VIP packages as a pre-sale July 8th - 10th. Additionally, the band will also give a free ticket to the first 50 fans in each market who pre-order LEAVE THIS TOWN from www.DaughtryOfficial.com.

"This club tour is a thank you to our loyal fans. Its a great way for them to see us up close and, more importantly, at a cheap price," says singer Chris Daughtry.

More than a month before its official release, LEAVE THIS TOWN is already generating considerable buzz for its musical range.

Rolling Stone: "The surprisingly diverse results include everything from the clubby 'Supernatural' to the fiddle-driven Vince Gill duet 'Tennessee Line.'" ... "'Call Your Name' [is] an anthem reminiscent of 'November Rain,' complete with a stirring key change, falsetto vocal runs and an explosive Slash-style guitar climax."

Billboard: "And while Daughtry's voice and rock riffs still play center stage to most of the album's tracks, several songs take some creative chances. Daughtry wrote 'You Don't Belong' on his own; it's a hard-driving song that wouldn't sound out of place on an Alice in Chains album."

Daughtry will begin an extensive North American tour this fall.

Howard Benson Returns As Producer To Follow Up Debut, Which Sold 5 Million Copies Worldwide

Daughtry unveils the title of its second album Leave This Town (19 Recordings/RCA). Released on July 14, the album once again produced by Howard Benson (All-American Rejects, My Chemical Romance) features a dozen plus songs, including the first single, "No Surprise."

daughtry.jpg

Chris Daughtry, bassist Josh Paul, drummer Joey Barnes, and guitarists Brian Craddock and Josh Steely recorded Leave This Town in Los Angeles. Much of the album explores the different paths we take in our search for transcendence. "A lot of it is about how leaps of faith can set us free or tie us down, and how we often find heartache when we run from something and redemption when we run toward something," says Chris Daughtry.

Musically, the album shifts gears smoothly between arena-rock anthems ("No Surprise," "Ghost of Me"), hushed ballads ("September"), emotional mid-tempos ("Life After You," "Learned My Lesson") and country-influenced ("Tennessee Line").

Leave This Town is Daughtry's follow-up to its 2006 GRAMMY-nominated debut, which sold 5 million copies worldwide. The eponymous album spawned a trio of #1 songs, was the largest-selling artist release for two years running, and earned multiple wins at the American Music Awards, the World Music Awards and the Billboard Music Awards.

One of the preeminent rock musicians of our time, Lenny Kravitz has transcended genre, style, race and class to ascertain a 20-year musical career that revels in the rich influences of '60s and '70s soul, rock and funk. To commemorate the 20th Anniversary of his incendiary, critically acclaimed 1989 debut, Let Love Rule, Kravitz and Virgin/EMI have collaborated to create an expanded 2CD and digital reissue to be released April 21 (April 20 internationally). Their first gig together was at Woodstock in front of half a million people. Now, four decades into their creative partnership, Crosby, Stills & Nash (CSN) continue their journey with a 2009 tour of North America and Europe, beginning with a concert in St.Louis, MO on Wednesday, June 3. The tour's initial North American leg--which will include dates in the U.S. and Canada--wraps at the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston, MA on June 14 (a second North American leg, running August through September, will be announced in the coming weeks).

The tour picks up internationally on June 27 in the U.K., when CSN plays the sold-out 2009 Glastonbury Festival. Other U.K. stops include July 1, when CSN takes the venerable stage at London's Royal Albert Hall, and then performs shows in: Cork, Ireland (6/29); Manchester, England (7/10) and Edinburgh, Scotland (7/11). The trio's summer European itinerary will also touch down on the Continent for four dates, with highlights including the Museum Plaza in Bonn, Germany (7/1) and The Olympia in Paris, France (7/4).

In between the late spring North American and early summer European segments of its 2009 road trip, CSN will be inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame on June 18 in New York City. The honor--which follows their 1997 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame--recognizes David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash as a threesome, and as individual solo artists. It also acknowledges the groundbreaking music each created with landmark bands prior to forming CSN: The Byrds (Crosby), Buffalo Springfield (Stills) and The Hollies (Nash)--this remarkable convergence of rock 'n roll pedigrees led to CSN becoming known as music's first "supergroup" when they formed in Los Angeles in 1969.

The tour's launch also coincides with Rhino Records' June 2 release of CROSBY, STILLS & NASH DEMOS, a single-disc collection of early versions of destined-to-be-classic songs later heard on the group's studio albums and solo titles. The set opens with a January 1969 recording of "Marrakesh Express," reaches as far back as '68 with the Stephen Stills solo track "My Love Is A Gentle Thing," and features other rarities including seminal takes on "Almost Cut My Hair," "Chicago" and "Long Time Gone." Looking ahead, CSN is currently in the studio, working on a new album with ten-time GRAMMY(R)-winning producer Rick Rubin.

A cornerstone of rock 'n roll, CSN's music first became embedded into our pop culture consciousness with the group's legendary, self-titled 1969 debut LP, now one of Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Albums of All Time." The album introduced signature hits including "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes," "Marrakesh Express," "Guinnevere" and "Wooden Ships," and earned CSN a GRAMMY(R) for Best New Artist. 1970's Deja Vu--another "500 Greatest"--came next, the first album from the group's four-man line-up with Neil Young, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (CSN&Y).

Ever since--throughout changing times and various configurations--David Crosby, Stephen Stills and Graham Nash have continued to tour and record music together, delivering songs conveying emotional truths and social activism in equal measure. Forty years on from their first live set at Max Yasgur's farm, they are still "three together."

The quintessential modern rock band Pearl Jam is making radio history this week as "Brother," a previously unreleased track recorded more than 18 years ago, rockets into the #1 slot on the BDS/R&R Modern Rock Chart a mere four weeks after entering the chart.

With the #1 success of "Brother," Pearl Jam joins the Beatles ("Free As A Bird") and Elvis Presley ("A Little Less Conversation") as one of the select few bands or artists to ever hit #1 with a track recorded decades prior.

Recorded in 1991 during the sessions that produced Ten, the band's classic breakout debut album, "Brother" is Pearl Jam's fourth #1 Modern Rock single, joining the ranks of "Daughter," "Who You Are," and "Worldwide Suicide." A fifth Pearl Jam single, "Last Kiss," peaked at #2 on the Modern Rock Chart.

In addition to its #1 Modern Rock status, "Brother" is bulleting up the charts on a variety of rock radio formats including BDS Alternative (#1), BDS Active (#7), Mediabase Alternative (#2), Mediabase Active (#8), Mediabase Mainstream (#3) and Mediabase Classic Rock (#20), garnering a total listening audience to-date of some 53.38 million listeners.

Pearl Jam's "Brother" is available for the first time as a bonus cut on the upcoming reissue of Ten on Epic/Legacy Recordings.

On Tuesday, March 24, Legacy will release four special edition packages of Ten, each of them featuring two versions of the album: the remastered version of the original album PLUS an accompanying remixed version done by the band's long-time producer, Brendan O'Brien (Bruce Springsteen, AC/DC, Audioslave).

The new editions will include:

Legacy Edition (a 2-disc set in a mini-LP style slipcase featuring six bonus tracks: "Brother," "Just A Girl," "State of Love and Trust," "Breath and a Scream," "2,000 Mile Blues" and "Evil Little Goat");

Deluxe Edition (a 2-disc set plus the long-awaited first-ever release of Pearl Jam's mythic 1992 MTV Unplugged concert including never-before-seen bonus performance of "Oceans" with a 5.1 Surround Sound audio remix);

Vinyl Collection (two 12" LPs of the original Ten tracklisting remastered for vinyl including the new Brendan O'Brien remix);

Super Deluxe Edition (a 2-disc set plus DVD, 4 LPs including 1992's "Live at Magnuson Park" mixed by Brendan O'Brien, a cassette replica of the legendary "Momma-Son" demos of "Alive," "Once" and "Footsteps" and an Eddie Vedder-style composition notebook filled with replica personal notes, images and mementos from the collections of Eddie Vedder and Jeff Ament, a vellum envelope with replicated era specific ephemera from Pearl Jam's early work and a two-sided print commemorating the Drop in the Park concert).
